Here’s a new versatile, space-saving modular shoe storage solution I think you’re going to like it? It’s called ‘like-it’ and comes from Japan. And, judging by the popularity of similar solutions from Songmics and Andrew James, I’m sure this latest idea is going to be a big hit.
The idea is very simple, you start with a six section unit and adapt it to your needs. So you might want a double section for boots, split a single section to fit 2 pairs of shoes and so on…
Then, if the basic six section unit isn’t enough, you can buy extra pieces that simply clip onto the sides or onto the top. So you could make a wide horizontal unit or, maybe, a stepped arrangement to fit under the stairs? Or you can buy 2 kits and simply fix them together?
like-it 6 Section Shoe Grid – here’s where you start, a simple 6 section grid with interchangeable sections. Made from tough polypropylene and you don’t need any tools to put it together. W26.5 × D35 × H64.5 cm. £30 from johnlewis.com
like-it Horizontal Add on Kit – to add an extra 2 compartments to the side use this kit. W25.1 × D35 × H23 cm. £8 from johnlewis.com
like-it Vertical Add on Kit – to add an extra 2 compartments on top use this kit. W26.5 × D35 × H21.6 cm. £8 from johnlewis.com
like-it Slim Shoe Holder – this accessory allows you to store a pair of shoes in one slot (size permitting) without fear of scuffing. W8 × D26 × H13.5 cm (up to size 8). £5 from johnlewis.com
** Top Tip – instead of trying to figure out which extra sections you need to buy just start with the basic set and then you’ll be able to see how it fits together and get a better idea of what you’ll need (if anything). Also, the depth of each unit is 35 cm – so plenty of room for most UK shoe sizes.
